I keep getting this awful message regardless of what I post....
"You are not allowed to post links, emails or phone numbers for 7 days from the date of your tenth post."
It seems to be getting confused between real life and what links, emails and phone number look like.
I have attached a text file with information that you may find useful.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have done a bit more work on this problem.
I began by uninstalling and starting afresh with a new installation of version 1.0
The reported problem exists in this version too, so what ever the fault is precedes the 13 beta release.
After a couple of runs I noticed two things: Very occasionally it would actually get as far as the German turn Air phase.
The other was that I noticed the dead silence and wondered if the problem may be related to the audio layer.
I thus renamed the Video and Audio directories and restarted the game. And Voila!!!, the turn completed, created a new save file and the presented a Ground Losses report.
As a consequence of this discovery I then checked my background Audio tools and noticed that they had also died. Can I blame WitW... No, bit it is an interesting coincidence.
I am now going to reboot my platform and will then retest this scenario with the sound files enabled again.. more news later.

Often installation of non-standard Codecs makes WitW/WitE crash (at least that's what I've seen reported at times). You could post your dxdialog report and someone might be able to recognize the issue. Good catch figuring out it was an audio problem.

You may well be correct.. although I don't think I have any audio codecs that could be an issue... but you never know...
DxDiag.txt is attached.
Note also that a reboot did not remedy the problem. There was a slight improvement though in that it now appears that the hang is always taking place at the same point in the turn process cycle; viz. AIR EXECUTION (17%).

Attached is an image of the point I keep getting stuck at.
Got this again -
"You are not allowed to post links, emails or phone numbers for 7 days from the date of your tenth post."
Image is embedded in a zip file.

Try Fixit Tool from Microsoft
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/video ... r_crashes/
Otherwise this:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Cod ... k_Tool.htm
-> General section, click on Fixes Button, deselect all checkboxes except the first two and the apply.
You need to reboot afterwards.

G Denniss,
Thanks very much indeed... your pointer helped to resolve the problem.
Specifically, the Codec Tweak Tool determined around 7 broken registry links which I deleted (after making a backup).
I then restored the audio directory and reloaded the game (13beta version) and it now completes the entire game turn cycle ending with the Ground Losses display.....
Once again, thanks for your input.
Have a great day!!!
