I am in 2 GD1938 games and a random Bombur game but they are moving SLOWLY. Looking for another game that hopefully goes a little faster.

We once had a dedicated "fast" game, Game 12, and it did progress quickly with only a few misses. I will gladly participate in another game where each player makes a commitment to rapid turnaround.

I would like to play the Soviet Union, a nation I have never played in a numbered game, although I am getting a taste of them in V220 Test, which is a very slow mover.

Ever consider playing Bombur 1930 random game? There are 7 possible nations, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Soviets and USA. Start date can be from 1930 to sometime in the 40's. I would consider a start date at least of 34 or 36, 34 you don't have much in the way of aircraft and except for Japan and the Soviets ( British too I guess) you don't have any medium tanks.

I prefer to start around 38 or 39 Germany does not get a medium tank till 39. Think the US gets the Sherman around 40 or 41.

Italy is weak most of the years and the Soviets have a lot of early options. Germany has good Armored cars as early as 34 and gets the PZII in 35 so even though no medium tank till 39 she can usually hold her own. The US doesn't have a real good tank option till the Sherman comes on line but they do have tanks.

Ever consider playing Bombur 1930 random game?

I am interested but have never played this game PBEM (thus only vs AI for the past couple years since I got ATG). Have the latest version of ATG with the Bombur 1930. I recently installed Dropbox, but I don't completely understand how it works (got WWIIE using it). I can do 1 turn/day (pretty sure). Want to school a relative newb?

I have tried Bombur's 1900 mod with ton's of countries. Have you looked at it?

It is up on the scenario bank. I am playing Russia, Benelux, Great Britain, France, Japan, Brazil, China and USA against the rest of the world, played by the AI. It is fun, but could really use a makeover. I would really like it if Ernie could bring his cards and diplomacy to the 1900 era. Turns are quarterly. Interesting packages of technology rather than individual items.

I would like this better than random, but I'll certainly think about anything.

To be honest the Germans/Italians are one of the easier powers to play they have considerable advantages over their immediate opponents, the target for a player of GD1938 should be to play all powers well, with the Germans its attack or die, you have to get ahead of the British in production capacity that means France must fall and to that aim, all the resources of Germany and Italy must go to knocking them out quickly, all things being equal that is what should happen.

If other players wish to start a New Dawn Random 2v2 I am up for it.

Graphics are missing when I try to start it up. The directory is loaded in graphics as required and has a bazillion graphics in it.

Not played for a while even solo but don't they have leaders and customizable tanks, sounds pretty good. GD1938 is a specialist niche of ATG players with core of specialist players with skills in that particular MOD.

Customizable tanks suck you almost always get a tank that is not as good as the core tank and as I recall you can not upgrade them either.

So if a tank is customized it cannot be upgraded ? "Customizable tanks suck you almost always get a tank that is not as good as the core" lost me here if you customize you add to the tank to improve it, so how does it end up worse than the standard tank. Unless you are referring to the issue of the upgraded version being better than a customized tank. To be honest I always thought that upgrading was the same as customizing. A better engine broader tracks better gun, that was what upgraded meant, or is upgraded a leap in technology where as Customizing is a battlefield addition to a standard model.

Designing your own tanks requires research in 3 technologies and I know they go to at least level 6 or higher. When you design the tank you create a new tank my experience has been while light tanks are generally better even at low tech levels the medium tank is not at least at low levels. You can sacrifice speed for more armor though.

You can upgrade the design by spending more PP on it after researching better techs. Not sure if the already made tanks can be upgraded though.

You should fire up a solo game give yourself 9000 PP and experiment.

Ok will do, not that keen on solo games, but I'll give it a shot.

Only averaging 2-3 turns per week this end so I'm in fer another if theres a vacancy.

We have 5 interested right now. Any ideas?

I will never turn down a game of GD1938.
