IJA 30th Division Mystery

In stock, IJA 30th division is broken into six parts: 3 regiments and 3 support
units (locations 4042 through 4047). The three regiments start the game in play.
The three support units appear on in June 1943. My question is why?

The only record I can find of 30th Division is when it was assigned to 14th Army
for duty in Mindinao in July 1942. That, and its low number, and the fact stock
data has all the line regiments existing in December 1941, implies to me it is
probably a division formed entirely before the war. Otherwise, possibly June 1943
might be a typo for June 1942 I suppose.

I would welcome specific information - which is better than guessing - if you have it.

Did you try the "Green Books"?
http://www.history.army.mil/html/books/ ... 5-10-1.pdf
Probably the best unit, at least on paper, was the 30th Division,
which had formed in Korea during 1943 from elements of three "regular"
divisions that had had considerable combat experience.
The division, however, had lost about half its combat strength
on Leyte, and the nature and extent of the unit's defensive preparations
on Mindanao raise some doubts as to the quality of the leader-ship within
the organization

Add to the above, 30th Division took 77th Regiment from 19th Division, possibly when it changed from square to triangular TOE.
(Possibly, info leads to thins but doesnt confirm)
