windows vista crash

Hi everyone,
I installed Awakening the bear on a vista OS this week, and I can't manage to make it work. I couldn't launch the game when only installing from the CD/DVD (hexgame.exe error and crash on startup), so I upgraded to 1.39. Then, half a miracle : I can access the game, but it crashes when I click on the start button of the first tutorial.
I haven't tried yet to install the game on a windows 7 on the other hand.
Does someone have any clue to solving this problem?
