Fixed Units not 'fixing', releasing despite 'orders'

Ok so, I added a few units to an OOB..... I am editing a battle, I went to the manual and on page 96 the instructions seem pretty clear; 2D normal view, open... add releases, highlight unit ( or inside if you want to NOT fix the whole unit), type in a turn and probability...save.....
Whats funny is I open the release dialog and it shows the turn, probability, units...
Meanwhile; There never is a 'fixed' icon ( white letter "F", over red circle)in the unit field, and they just start moving on turn 1 despite the later turns I thought I had set them up for....
as always, many thanks and appreciation in advance for any assistance...

I just realized this is the wrong place to ask this question, this is more it appears a game process question, at this point at least not a glitch. My apologies...is=my guest...

You have to Fix the unit first, by selecting the unit you want fixed and then pressing the toggle fixed button from the toolbar. It is a white F inside a red icon.

I find it is helpful to Highlight Fixed units so I can make sure I did it right.

Hi Jason, thx for Answering..[;)]
So, ok I have to open right here, editing scenario, opened the scn., I deleted all of the 'releases' I had set up, to clear the board so to speak.
I then selected an inf. unit, went to the toolbar and hit the F, but all that did is highlight fixed units the scenario already had fixed when it was built originally, it didn't change the status of the unit I had highlighted...

You could have kept your releases schedule since you identified already which units you wanted released. You just needed to actually spend time to fixing those units.
Another one of those tasks to make video tutorials for.

Opps, Wait,I figured it out

.....you have to use the ToolBar verbiage drop down, NOT the graphical Icon IN the toolbar..
so; highlight the unit, go to 'Units', click on the drop down verbiage "Toggle Fixed", then the 'F' will appear.....damn, that means I we have to do it for every individual unit....wow.
Thx Jason...

There are two F buttons, one to actually fix them and one to highlight the fixed units. I think the one that actually Fixes the units in place is located near the center of the tool bar. The highlight one is close to the right end.
