I tried to save the game but the system hung - no error messages. I tried to open the game again and it hung after single player.

Kaiserschlact hangs and then ctd... No error messages either.

I congratulate the team on finding news way for a patch to pork a game. [&o][&o][8|][8|]

Now the Steam version hangs at "Single Player" No error message, no error log. [:@][:@][:@]

Try the following:
Open the game installation folder, find a file named "ctgw_d3d.exe" and run it.
Start a new game and check if you experience the same issue.

No joy. Not even a fresh re-install without up dates runs. I updated and did as you said. Let us know when this is fixed.
