Something that people with field experience should have a good feel for: should fortified positions be usable by the enemy when occupied? I 'd think not, given that protections and cleared field of fire etc etc 'd face the wrong direction and even just finding where all the trenches/foxholes/bunkers are 'd take some time and may not fit different equipment....what if they were booby trapped?

A good example where this is relevant is the Fulda Gap scenario.
