I've played a few shorter scenarios against a PBEM opponent, so I know the mechanics.
I'm very much a beginner on strategies. Contact me for a game, if you're about at my level.

I too am pretty much a beginner at this game and have never played human to human. If you are interested I will give it a go - particularly as the Union simply because I've now found three relatives from England who were in the war. I have a fairly large library on military history and I enjoy the way this game captures the historical flavour of the period.

Sure I'd be interested in playing as confederate. I would suggest one of the shorter / smaller scenarios / battles.
I have the blood roads south expansion too, in case you have it. I have done a few PBEM games, but I am no expert on game mechanics.

I see you've played WITE, so you're probably quite a gamer.

In any case, you're welcome to pick a game.

You can start a game by preparing your move, zipping the files, and emailing them to me. The manual is incorrect on PBEM,
but the AGEOD forum has the correct details.
