I made it all the way to Persia with coups and have started placing German units in Persia, but supply is killing me. Any suggestions...

What scenario? what options? By "placing" do you mean setting-up or moving them there? Is Turkey neutral? How about Syria - FF, Vichy, conquered, etc?
A little more info and a saved game may benefit.

If you're doing the 42 barb idea, (i.e., you haven't aligned Turkey) yeah, supply is tough. You're either going to have to get a naval presence around the Arabian peninsula, which is difficult because the British will probably eat your convoys, or you're going to need to have a massive HQ relay to get back to the Mediterranean coast and overseas at one of the ports in Syria/Palestine/Egypt.
Once you align Turkey, things ease up considerably, as you now have a rail line going straight from Persia to Germany without going overseas. Unfortunately, to pick up Turkey, you need 4 corps on the border. One thing you can try is to get a Supply Unit over, stack him with whatever HQ you have at the front, and try to bum rush them over to the Turkish border so you can pick them up, but it's very hard to launch an attack on the Soviets up through that underbelly. What you're really angling for most of the time is forcing him to divert troops so you don't walk into Baku or something while the main thrust comes out of Poland and Rumania.

42 barb, Turkey is not aligned, The italians are in great shape. Germany had a dreadful start. so it may have to be the convoy chain around Arabia. this could be hard!

You have to plan ahead but I take a couple of supply inits with me since the HQs are needed in Russia proper. In two barbarossa turns you should be able to snuggle 4 units up next to Turkey and then the problem is solved. However, you have to plan ahead...
