Did new patch revert an item changed in betas?

I could swear that in one of the many betas an original configuration was changed (not so much a bug fix as an alteration to cause something to work differently).
In the "old days" if you wanted to add ships to a docked TF that would put the TF over the capacity limit of the dock the attempt to add the ship was aborted and the player was required to manually undock the TF and then reenter the ship transfer interface in order to execute the transfer.
I could swear that it was revised in one of the betas so the transfer goes through and the TF is automatically undocked to allow the transfer.
The latest patch seems to have reverted it back to the old way which is annoying and frustrating. Can we please get it changed back to allow the automatic undocking of a TF when a transfer would exceed the docking limits?

Not that I've noticed. Right up to the latest Beta I still have to abort and undock manually. So, if it changed and then back, it happened within the Beta stream.

Well Hans I guess it's a matter of choice, I like the fact that I can load up a cargo or transport TF at a dock to maximize the shipping and when no more fit, then the ships get grayed out. This means the TF's port is at max capacity and thus my loading is maximized, without me having to guess and the tonnage and then the port limit. So to me, it's an advantage and a time saver. Thus to each his or her own!

hi Hans,
I would find the change you suggest to be annoying & frustrating, & would not like to see it implemented.
What I do, is create a separate TF, then set it to meet/merge the docked TF. The undocked TF always merges to the docked TF in the next movement phase, & I've not noticed any ill effects to the overall loading rate.

Well I say pooh on you naysayers.
It WAS changed to stop frustrating players and causing extra work.
I just didn't notice that it had reverted back during betas and thought it was the patch.
Oh well, another improvement de-improved. [&:]
I can't find the beta notes anymore to look up when it was altered. Looks like they took them down when they put up the patch notes.

These are them, but you can't attach a PDF so I cut & pasted to a text file.

Thank you very much.
I copied and pasted it into Word and then printed a PDF so I can peruse it at leisure to find that change.
Not that I expect anything will be done about it, but it just ticks me off that it was fixed and then broken again.

As others have noted, 'fixed' and 'broken' are matters of opinion on this one. There have been other game-play changes that were changed back after the effects were tested.
