Crash after loading

I just changed my operating system from Windows XP to 7 so I am now reinstalling all of my games. I successfully installed this game but I cannot successfully launch it. While going through the loading screen all is normal but once the loading bar fills up the game crashes instead of going to the main menu. I reinstalled multiple times and tried launching both versions 1.10.10 and 1.12.2 and both have the same problem.

This shouldn't be a problem related to the new operating system right? FoF should work on 7? Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this so I can launch the game properly?

I'm not sure if this helps but here is a screenshot of the error I am getting.

Code: Select all

This program requires a missing Windows component

 Program: AutoPlay Application
 Publisher: autorun
 Location: C:\Matrix Games\Forge of Freedom\autorun.exe

Sorry I didn't see this sooner -- I've been so immersed in getting "Brother against Brother" ready for release in two days that I missed your post.

If you are still having the problem please p.m. me and I'll ask our programmer what might be done. I should note that the game came out back in the XP days.

I had the same problem.
Start Internet Explorer, browse to Adobe and install the flash plugin
for internet explorer. IIRC that fixed it for me (64bit Win 7).
Make sure to deselect the options for Chrome etc before downloading/installing.
