New features I would like to see!

Gents: [8D]

Here is a list of new features I would like to see:

1) "Hold Fire" order (especially for scout units)
2) "Turn Off / On Active Radar" order for air defense units.
3) More waypoint plots (at least 5).
4) Helo specific orders.(e.g. Stay NOE - nap of the Earth, engage at a specific distance, specify priority targets, etc.)
5) Issue multiple orders to a unit (e.g. Move to hex 1201, blow bridge, and than dig in.)
6) More "intelligent" unit retreats. (e.g. Retreat to available covered positions - not bug out to an open hex!)
7) In game markers. (Mark suspected enemy HQ's, etc.)

Mike,

#1 and #2 will get covered by the planned inclusion of SOPs with the orders in Southern Storm. #3,#4, and #5 will be covered with the new multistate orders. Still a question of whether or not we bump up to 5 waypoints/orders. That will be a matter of testing once we get that up and running. We are also planning to move helo based code to its own module to allow for better resolution of AI actions. #6 is an issue with certain displacement moves not using the deeper scoot logic used when units scoot under fire and loss. We tried to combine the logic a couple updates ago, but broke too many AI actions we had to break it out. #7 is on our list with other Fog of war improvements.

I would like to suggest an improved manual to make it easier for players that never played this type of game before

Gluever54, we are planning on adding a Battlefield Primer to the documents we do for Southern Storm to cover the types of equipment, weapons, and sensors on the Cold War battlefield. What kind of info in particular are you looking for? Any inputs you have will definitely help.

Well i was thinking things like a more comprehensive guide into the games mechanic or maybe manual videos?

Was the Tutorial/Quick Start helpful? That should cover many of the basics.

Ask questions and check around the forum. Lots of good info around here and good folks who can help as well.
