Closest wargamelike atmosphere game that plays very simular to X-Com Enemy Unknown or the expansion pak one? I'd like to see some WWII units on the screen instead of sci-fi if possible? Is the newest Jagged Alliance like X-Com Enemy Unknown?

Which one do you mean? There are two sort of re-makes of Jagged Alliance2.

I only have back in action and if you apply a mod to it called 'JaggedAlliance_BackInAction_Realistic_Rebalancing_Mod_1.83.zip' then it is ok. The other one does not get very good reviews so am not buying it. There is an old demo of Back In Action so perhaps try that first.

This is almost a clone of the old x-com game. Haven't seen a wargame themed game like these done, the closest wwii would be the Men of War games but they are RTS not turn based.

Yeah I'm kinda lookin for something modern day in the likes of X-Com Enemy Unknown. I can wait I was just wonderin if I missed one.

Xenonauts still gets updated pretty regularly, so I'd say it is modern. Graphics are basic but functional. I haven't played it to completion but what I did play of it felt just like the old Enemy Unknown game.

Yeah I know about Xenonaughts but it's really still sci-fi. I'm wanting WWII. But, with the movement mechanics of X-Com Enemy Unknown. I have to agree the graphics of Xenonaughts are still pretty primitive.

I just remembered a few WWII games that are TB tactical battles. The best is Silent Storm which can be bought from gog.com.

The other two are old and have issues trying to run on a modern PC but the one called Soldiers At War was one of my favourite tactical strat games back in the day. The other one had crash issues but came from the same developer. I have it but never got past the first mission due to a crash issue that was never fixed. Soldiers at War though was good and will run on a modern PC but scrolling the screen moves way too fast and so do the units.

I have Xenonauts too and it is good but can get tedious when you keep having to invade alien bases and terror missions in the later game.

It's old (late 90s) but Soldiers at War by SSI is basically the original X-COM gameplay set in WW2.

That'll be just fine as long as it's WWII atmosphere. I wish someone would make a game more in the light of "COMBAT" the tv series. [:)] or maybe The Rat Patrol.

Your best bet is get Jagged Alliance2 and then install the mod that gives you high res.
