After standing inside the bomb bay of the B 36, the B 29 seems a lot smaller than you might think..Wright Patterson air museum is a MUST see for anybody wanting to see aviation history..

Totally agreed! I was on the VA side in front of my office. I thought the B-17s were big but the -29 was positively huge!
P-51s are a million times cooler in person. A righteous roar from their engines too.

I live in Silver Spring but sadly missed it all because we were in Cape Hatteras. But it was not too shoddy of a day to be at the beach either..[;)]

I saw it from Gravelly point, right beside National airport. One of the P51s (I think it was) had engine trouble and had to land at National - came in right over our heads. A great show. There were people crowding all the parks along the river and my wife says the roof tops were crowded in DC.
