Hi! could anyone check this save, please? Just end land movement phase and see what happens. In my computer, the game freezes and I can´t continue. My pc is not very good and sometimes the game works slowly but after hundred of hours playing that´s the first time I can´t continue.
Thanks!

For $200-$250 you can buy a decent new (un-used) lap-top. Its a good investment. I'm not suggesting you buy it to play this game, but also for other things you do with it.

This game has a very long supply calculation at this point. I don't know why that is happening. What I did was to simply let it run after I ended the land movement phase. If a Mad Except happens, click on continue (I had to do this one time, after which the game continued quite fast again).
It took 6 and a half minutes on my lap top to get it running again. And I've got a reasonable fast one...

Thanks Centuur, I´ve reloaded and I´ve got the same result. I don´t know why but allways at the air transport phase take a lot of time. Now I know that is not a problem of my pc.

The Air Transport phase checks a zillion hexes for possible moves by the phasing side to see if CAP can be flown by the non-phasing side against any of those hexes.

Hi! Steve, I understand what you say but I have a question about it. We play without CAP phase (skipping it for every nation) so the program must not to make a lot of calculus about it. In fact, sometimes there are just a few planes (one or two) selectable to make the air transport mission. My question is, in these conditions why the program is so slow?

Can't the game just check the range of an ATR plus the range of an opposing fighter and if that equals or exceeds the distance between the units then a CAP might be possible?
Just a thought (might be incorrect or not be 100 percent! The common hex might be a sea hex)

First: I don't know what is happening here and why the program takes a long time to switch from the land movement phase to the air transport phase. There might be some code working in the background which we don't know of (overstacking check? Supply check? Calculating possible CAP? Checking which ATR can pick up which unit where on the map?).
Second: If we look at the rules on flying CAP in WiF, during CAP one can fly a FTR to any hex (not just to those which can be reached by the enemy). This can be used to rebase FTR planes (at the cost of getting reorganised and therefore using oil).
From RAW:
A fighter flying CAP is attempting to anticipate an attack on a
threatened location. Generally, you should only use it if the target hex
is likely to need fighter protection and your fighter could not fly
interception to the hex. Of course, you may also want to use it as a
short range rebase.
This means that theoretically speaking, one should be able to fly all organised FTR's on your side during CAP, not only those which are in reach of threathened hexes...

I agree Centuur, and the most strange thing is that we play without CAP so no calculus about it is needed!
