Attached is a zipped up Beta Hotfix file version 1.08.04 that should fix several possible crash bugs that appeared in 1.08.03. You will need to unzip the file into your main exe directory where it will replace your old 1.08.03 exe file (the default directory is /Matrix Games/Gary Grigsby's War in the East). This fixes the following items:

1. Fixed a bug where the game could crash due to memory corruption when trying to launch automated supply drops for partisan units from non-VVS airbases, even when no air groups were eligible to participate.
2. Fixed a bug where the game could crash when loading certain saved games.
3. Fixed a bug where ghost units were created in slot 8191 during a failed attempt to convert Rifle or Mountain divisions to Guards, because of reaching the percentage limit.

The file attached in this post is the English language version. The German version will follow in the next post.

Are there any other changes or a change log?

No, this is just a hotfix for these three serious issues, of which one was causing a crash and another prevented a game from loading.

The real .04 that has 12+ pages of changelog is now renamed .05, and we still work on it. I wanted to finish working on it without any pressure, so it won't be rushed, and those three bugs were generating serious pressure, hence interim hotfix.

It worked! My game vs smokendave is back up and running

After I unzipped it, put it into the Matrix Games/Gary Grigsby's War in the East directory and brought up the game it still shows 1.08.03. Should it show 1.08.04? If so I must be doing something wrong. After could you provide a little more info on how to get it to where it's supposed to be.

This is always so for exe packed without installer. But in main menu you should see game version .03 and exe version .04.

1)download

2) unzip

3) drag

4) drop it on what? Tell me exactly, I'm dumb. My opponent does know how either, for sure.

4) find the game installation folder
5) paste the file into this folder, overwriting the old file of the same name
6) start game, wait for main screen to appear, in bottom right corner you should see installed version as 1.08.03 and executable version as 1.08.04

5. Lots of folders in the wite directory, none say anything about installation, Go like this, C/MatrixGames/wite then the folder I want to paste into is one of these. If I guess for what looks right I'll surely screw it up
