Parts of the UI are not rendering

The component list in the ship designer and the colony screen's cargo and resources tabs don't render for me.
Curiously, if I click in the are where the component list should be, I can press the up and down keys to move the selection.
I'm brand new to the game, so I'm not sure if there are any other things that aren't showing correctly for me...
