Do any of the Matrix sci-fi titles play similarly to the classic Master of Orion 2?

I am a big fan of Armada 2526 Supernova which I believe is compared to MOO2.
Pop over to the page for it and see if it looks similar to you.

I still play MOO2.
Some say the Armada game is similar. Some say the distant worlds one.
I loathe them both.but they are much newer so maybe have a look.
