with the addition of Vic's awesome new patch, I'm in the process of re-working some of my scenario's. Korea happens to be one of them. I've attached a couple of screen shots to show how things look with Vic's new addition.

With the help of ernie, we have programmed it so when the North Korean capital falls, China will awaken and declare war on the Allied forces in Korea. I have also added officers, though all the DPKR officers with the exception of Kim Il Sung are just Chinese generals, but as I could not locate any NK officers this will have to do for now. I was able to find some ROK officers, though a couple of the officers names are made up as I was not able to find their names. President Rhee of South Korea was added as well.

since I'm not really doing a AAR, I'll put this new screen shot here. So far from playtesting it appears that North Korea can hold her own for about a year and 2 months before she runs out of oil. She is still producing oil but not like at the beginning of the war and due to her stockpile dwindling. North Korea needs to achieve a knock out blow within a year or otherwise she has lost. This scenario is about ready for playtesting with another player if someone is interested. I'll post here when ready.
This new screen shot is showing a complete collapse of the North Korean southern front.

I'm thinking about programming an event for the Soviets to intervene on North Korea's behalf as China is. China will awaken once the North Korean capital has fallen, but the Soviets I would think intervene if Allied forces came to close to their mutual border, not sure. Suggestions

if someone would like to playtest this with me, let me know as I'm ready to begin public playtesting and hopefully work the remaining bugs out. Thanks

The possibility of the Soviets intervening were very remote. They did provide aircraft and pilots as I recall to North Korea. The Soviets encouraged and aided the Chinese in the intervention. The Chinese were not ready for war as they had only recently beaten off the Nationalists. But the Soviets played them like a fiddle and got them to do the heavy lifting. It helped that Mac Arther was such an ass and kept demanding the right to attack China.

Thanks to ernie for showing me how to do simple programming, I have added the soviet event myself. So now the Soviets will intervene once the North Korean port hex 37,10 (Ch'ongjin) falls to either South korea or the Allies.

I have always thought that it would be interesting to see what would happen if the Soviets intervened directly if either ROK or US forces came close to their border and as I don't know how to just program complex events that would just add Soviet planes I'll for now have to go with this. But I appreciate your thoughts on this. So now what would Soviet intervention look like, full blown war or just an army or corps size invasion

the only units not represented are the other UN forces as America was the main player other than the South Koreans. So do I just make a UN regiment say, out of the Mercs or what should I do. I was leaning on making a UN regime, but then that would take a while so suggestions

With the help of Ernie, we have programed more events into this scenario. Now in order for North Korea to win the game they must capture the South Korean capital and Pusan. Once Pusan has been captured, if ROK forces at any time recapture one of these victory hexes, then the victory clock will be reset if not then the game will end 6 turns there after in a NK victory. ROK/US forces have only to capture the NK capital and hold it for 2 months or 24 turns I think it is. After that there will be a ROK/US victory, but if NK forces capture their capital then the victory clock will be reset.

planning to program (with the help of Ernie) of course to make the scenario end in a draw if by 1955-57 if neither side has won, then the game ends in a draw. Going past 1955 is this too long, or too short

the scenario will end in 1955. A pop up message will tell both sides that this is a draw if none of the victory objectives have been met
