Hi yoye101,

Were you able to play earlier and this just started happening, or is this the first time you've tried to run the game?

Based on the 0x0 address I suspect something is going wrong before the game has finished initializing itself. The first thing I would recommend is deleting and re-installing the game, just to make sure there isn't a problem with your install.

Are you playing the Steam version of the game? Is so, and you are trying to run the game without the Steam client already running, try starting Steam first and then the game.

It the first time I have tried to run the game.
I deleted and reinstalled the game but the same error message appears.
I am playing the steam version and I run steam first always.

One odd thing I am seeing is that the display device is listed as an Intel integrated part, but you have nVidia drivers etc installed?

One other thing, try installing the DX9 runtime - W8 is actually missing a few DX9 components.

There are no startup videos for Gateway to Caen, so that's definitely not the problem. Since it is happening before the game is even displaying the main window, it must be some sort of initialization issue that I've never seen before. Do you have another machine available to make a test install and see if you have the same problem there?
