Hey guys!

I like having a variety of characters for the races I play in Distant Worlds so the single stock image for every character just wont do! I modified and recycled some of the other stock Distant World race images to add some variety to the Mortalen, Shandar, and Naxxilian. So for all you reptilian warriors out there, here are the results.

Place these images in Distant Worlds Universe/Customization/*YourTheme*/Images/Units/Characters. You will have to create or modify your own *RaceName*.txt in Distant Worlds Universe/Customization/*YourTheme*/Characters. I recommend using the "Beyond Extended Universe" mod's character files with these images and just changing the characters assigned image files using LibreOffice Calc or MS Excel.

im playing a epic game as the Mortalen right now. could you give the step by step example of how to use these.

Attached some more character images for all you reptilian race players.

Zip contains 39 Shandar, 32 Mortalen, 2 thumbnail previews, and a readme.

im still not sure where to attach the images, can you tell me where to put them exactly?

If you want to add them to the main game its in the Distant Worlds Universe root folder then \images\units\characters

In the root folder 'characters' you also have to add them to the mortalen.txt.

With lines like this

0, Bakra Taghran, 5, X, Mortalen, 41, 25, 40, 58, 0, 0, 0, 0,

Where X is the name of the pictures you've added. Like say MortalenCharacter1.png


If you've never modded before it can be a bit daunting. But it's easy enough when you just figure out the correct sequence.
