The General is Blood and Guts himself "Patton" the vehicle is an M4 Sherman M4A3/76 mm gun. Just a guess.

Not 100% sure on it being Patton, but sure looks close jowls seem a tad off.

The Sherman appears to be a late war easy 8, and it would be late war as that general has 4 stars, and I think Patton went through Europe with 3 for a good part of that campaign.

Just having furn: Yes it is Patton as for the exact model I'm not exactly sure I was just looking for a M4 Sherman. I just came across this photo doing some research for CL.

If one didn't know the history, a perfect caption for this picture would be:

The third last second in the life of General Patton :D :D :D

It's hard to make it the HVSS vs vertical volute suspension call because of the angle of the shot (you can't see much of the running gear). Its a striking picture though, and I don't recall seeing it before. Didn't Patton strongly dissaprove of M4 crews adding improvised armour to their vehicles? (for performance and morale reasons). Maybe he's just finished giving the crewmen sh*t !!! :D "Remove those sandbags! there's nothing wrong with your gov't issue equipment! da*n it!!" :D

He sure looks like he's just given / is about to give someone serious hell. Could the officer in the bottom right be getting ready to run for the hills? :D

Is it one of the "Becker conversions" used by 21 Panzer division in Normandy 1944? They tried all kinds of wacky things to make use of the abundance of captured French equipment !! The turret does look Russian, though ...

P.S. I'll bet that thing is really top-heavy!
