Rule question - unusual situation.

Italy is at war with France, but not with the CW.
CW brought troops in Morocco (Which is Free France).
If I got the rules straight, Italy can attack British units as they're in French land.
CW cannot attack Italians because they're in Italian controlled hexes.
Can Italy attack CW ships in a French port?
What happens to CW units if the Marocco is conquered though? And to the hexes where the CW units are?
It's a "Peacekeeper" case?

You've got the rules straight here. Italy can attack French controlled hexes and the CW can't attack Italian controlled hexes. It's not the unit that counts, but who controls the hex which make a land attack possible or not.
The Italians can't attack CW ships in a French port, however. Here is RAW on that one:
11.2 Port attack
You use port attack missions to attack enemy naval units in port.
Note the word: "enemy". The CW is not an enemy of Italy in this stage, so they can't be attacked in French ports.
Here is RAW on conquest:
All units from the conquered side in that country are now moved to
the nearest friendly hex outside the country that they may stack in,
unless they are at war with the conquerer.
Now change the control of the conquered home country. Every one of
its hexes occupied by a land or aircraft unit (most combat factors if
more than one), or in the uncontested (by any other major power) ZoC
of a land unit, becomes controlled by that unit’s controlling major
power; unless already controlled by another major power on the same
side. All other hexes in the home country become controlled by the
conquering major power.
So during conquest, the CW units will be "teleported" out of Morocco. After that, the hexes they were in get controlled by Italy, unless they are occupied by or in a ZOC of a Free France unit.
So yes: it is a peacekeepers case.

Peacekeeping rules are undoubtedly among the most clumsy and silly of all WiF's rules. Going by the book in these cases, rather than coming to an informed agreement among friends on a case-by-case basis, is a recipe for absurdity.

Thanks for the answer!
In the end Italy DoW'ed CW - a Queen and a TPS sitting in Marocco were too juicy as target with 2 NAVs in reach, to be left unmolsted
So now CW won't be "ported" out anymore but it's good to know for any future reference.
