I need advice as to how to set SoWWL to play in windowed mode. I have unchecked the "full screen" button in the Options section and am playing with the default screen resolution. However, the game opens in full screen mode nonetheless. In the sowwl configurations file in "My Documents" I note this setting: full screen=0

Should I set the "full screen" setting to 1 to enable the windowed mode??

You need to lower your resolution in addition to uncheck full screen; if you leave the dfault screen resolution the game window will occupy all the monitor space in any case.
