... the new patch comes with some new scenarios and some updated ones.
Here's a screen shot of one modeled on the Avalon Hill 'Russian Campaign' board game from 1976. I played that one so much I wore the counters out. No worries about doing that these days, eh ?

lol. The colors are mind altering. I see the mini map keeps the original coloring. Wonder if there is some way to fix that.

I can't figure out what you guys are talking about. I'll make a guess that what you are seeing is different from the screen shot above ? If so, make sure to turn PNG Support OFF.

Actually, I just tried it with PNG = ON and I don't see any mind altering difference, so I still don't know what you are referring to.
But still, don't use the PNG's. For most of my scenarios I don't use the PNG's.
Reminds me that if designers didn't know, if you are modifying Units you don't have to do both. If you do the BMP's and place them in the scenario graphics folder the game will use them even with PNG turned on, as seen in this shot :

If you are getting psychedelic colours try setting Contrast to 0 in Player Options, when I tried it at 500 (just picked the mid-range number) the colours were a bit garish [:)]
P.S. I actually prefer the look of it with PNG ON.

To PNG or not to PNG: that is the question.
Actually other than the change to the hex outlines and rail lines is there any difference?

Actually no, and it uses GJK's Terrain Mod [except I changed the white board to a green one] which uses BMP's only, so the game must also grab the BMP's for terrain even when PNG's are enabled, similar to the unit counters. Neat, what an awesome game !

The problem here using PNG is that the counter's arrow indicating an attack is almost invisible.

JUST SAY NO to PNG's !!
Strive for a PNG free society !!
I use jpeg's for work and play, and everytime I try to save one in Paint it defaults to PNG causing me extra clicks. [:@]
