So this is, finally, the old Campaign Series Middle East game getting revamped and I assume runnable on modern machines? My copy has been sitting here forever, unused, because it won't work on modern PCs/OSs. Depending on pricing, this should be interesting.

Not exactly a revamp (of Divided Ground), rather, a brand new game, based off the JTCS engine, and runnable on modern machines. Lots of cool new features, too, and still more planned in future! [:)]

If I can have this screen for game play, I'm in.

Divided Ground was scrapped. We found it didn't meet our standards, so while the theme is the same, it is actually a brand new game. Not a revamp.

In fact, since this is a platoon sized game, the variety in NATO symbols is pretty impressive. Some 420 individual symbols as it stands at the moment.

All Terrain Wheeled Self Propelled Heavy Artillery? Yep. Amphibious Cross Country Armored SAM Vehicle? Check [:)]

This looked interesting.

Then I saw the screenshots and I must admit I've totally lost interest.

I know as a wargamer I shouldn't want flashy graphics and slick UIs, but I do want something better (particularly in the UI department) than what was just about acceptable ten or more years ago.

New, Large Toolbar (in addition to None, Small & Standard Toolbars):

Dozens and dozens of hot keys, nearly every game function hot keyed, all of them documented in-game in tooltips, Status Bar, menus, etc.

Can you go into detail what you are specifically looking for in a UI?

And also how this UI doesn't function for you?
