Some info text files

It sure would be nice if we had some simple text files that contained all the tips and all the technology descriptions in one simple, easy-to-use text file. It would be much more convenient than having to find them while in the middle of a game, and ofcourse tech descriptions don't show up until you can research them. It also would be nice to know what the difference is between different weapons systems. Are beams stronger than bolts at the same tech level, or are they the same power but just a different delivery system?

I sure hope Andrew can put together some simple text files that consolidate all that info into an easy-to-use format that we can use as a reference guide while we play the game. The tech tree pdf file was beautiful and it even printed out legibly which surprised me considering how big the tree is and how it filled my 19" screen.

Andrew points out that the tips are in the file called SUDG-PlayerGuide-Ebook.pdf. on the CD-ROM I would suspect also in the 2.0 patch maybe.

The technologies are described in the PDF manual in v2.0. A tech tree in both PDF and Powerpoint format is available in the Matrix Games download page.

Thanks

Maxfreeboard,
Thanks for the heads up on the pdf file. I'll give that a checkout and print. I got that nice tech tree file last night and it sure helps to see what leads to what. Last night I didn't bother to research the ram so I never saw assault pods. It sure will be nice to peruse the tech descriptions in the pdf manual to see what does what. Now all I got to figure out is crew compositiion, among other stuff.

Yeah, I need to do more with the staffing too. I'm probably not doing as good in the game as I could if I adjusted that more.

There's a ton of stuff in the manual. :)
