Changing city production level

Hi - ATG N00B here. I have attempted to change the city production level in the editor (e.g. I want to drop production level from 8000 to 1000) . . . without success. I'm sure that I have skipped some step or not clicked the right button. Any insight as how one does this would be great.

PS I'm using a randomly generated multiplayer game and editing it.

Hi there and welcome to modding ATG :)

Go into the Loc submenu, choose the location type you want modified, and change the production there, under each location you want to change it for. Then when you are done, you might want to save, which is done by going into the computer symbol, while in the map portion of the editor, and there choosing save. Your generated game will now be saved, and you can reuse it or use it later. If you on the other hand don´t want to play it later, but just now, and don´t care about losing your changes if you made a small mistake (sometimes you just make a small edit, so it can be as fast to redo it as loading, or well... it is really always safer to save)... just go into the main menu, and start the game. :)

Good luck modding! :)

Thanks very much for your reply.

I followed your advice exactly; alas, no luck [&:]. It seems that I'm unable to change the values in the sub-menu. For example, I'll create a random game, click on edit, click on "LT", click "0)city", click "statistics" to get the sub-menu . . . but when I mouse over the items in this menu it does not allow me to change the values - they appear fixed (even though the top bar will say "give the ammount of production points for this loctype"). Could it have something to do with the version I'm using? (I'm using is using ATG v221 via Steam). Sure is puzzling?

Ah, you are experiencing the "child lock" that prevents you from changing things that make the scenario based on the masterfile. The solution, go into the Setng part of the menus, click on the masterfile button, the click cancel, when asked for a new masterfile... and the masterfile will appear as none. (or No masterfile). After that every submenu should be editable.
