Does anyone know what this little bugger is about, unable to get into ATG, I have deleted then downloaded the game again same message,
and also disabled temporarily my security software. No joy still not working.
I am in games 16,18,19,20,21 GD1938 and Bombers Mod if anyone would care to take over.
My rig has been going down hill for some time, but like a old faithful dog, I have been unwilling to take it out back and shoot it. I have parts on the way that may fix the problem but that could be a while.

Try placing an icon file, any .ico file will do, in the "C\Matrix Games" folder. It is probably related to the fooling around they have done with the launch menu. Just rename the icon file you place there to "Gold64.ico" and it may work.

@Ironduke1955,
I found a "Gold64.ico" in my ATG folder. This should be what it is looking for. Why it is looking one folder above I do not know. Copy the file up one folder and see what happens.
I doubt this is related to the age of your "faithful dog"!
You might try double clicking directly on the AdvancedTacticsGold.exe file in the ATG folder.

No joy, I am tempted to buy the game again and run it on steam, but there is a principle at stake, the one about not paying twice for the same product however good that product is.
Well its not just the age it has a developed faults on the Motherboard parts are not working, the diagnostic Morse Code is frequently tapping out distress signals to Asus Command.
Yes I did try the double click on the exe file in the ATG folder one of the first things I did, I am no stranger to Sod's and Murphy's Law.

Yes, that is a very screwed up folder.
Look at your "application" Gold64.ico versus mine.
I would rename the whole ATG folder, or perhaps move it somewhere to a work folder. Than do a fresh install.

You don't need to buy the game again. Go to the Slitherine website, login to your account or register, then go to your 'my games' or some such and generate a steam key for your game. Use that key on Steam and there you go.

Yes the game is registered the reinstall was downloaded from the Matrix Site, I don't have a disc as I opted for a e-Download. I had to disable my security to download ATG and the latest GD1938 version.
Yes pretty screwed up I may have to take old yellow out the back and shoot him.

I get exceptions when I try to load saved games from Dropbox but I restart and it runs them after it looks like they are uncompressed.

Are you installing using the original downloaded game file installer?
You can always open a helpdesk ticket or contact us support[at]slitherine.co.uk asking for a new download link of the original game file installer.
Or you can install via Steam. These are the steps needed for redeeming a Steam key:
1. Register the game serial number in your Slitherine account:
http://www.slitherine.com/register_serial.php
2. Once you have registered the game in your account, you can redeem a Steam serial key:
