During the AI turn I get the above message and seems to freeze but the cursor still moves and after a while the game resumes.

There are no sound problems

I`ve compatibilty mode in the shortcut to XP or Vista and that sometimes fixes it. seems to have fixed WITE totally but WITW still suffers.

can you identify the reason for this behaviour- may it be a RAM prob?

Nah...probably not a problem at all. It can take the computer some time to figure out the turn. While it does it, the turn seems 'unresponsive' but as you have discovered, it will become responsive.

In the log file it will tell you how long it took to calculate the air phase, for example. I am looking at mine and it says it took 1 min 8 sec. I have an i7 5930k 3.5Ghz computer. I imagine if your computer is older it may take 2 minutes...or maybe even 3 minutes.
