question about Dawn's First Light OOB

The briefing suggests that elements of the 8th Infantry are moving east on 26.

The first US formation on the field (1/36th Infantry, 29th Engineers) seem to be made up of units from the 3rd Armor, with the exception of the artillery unit. Are they supposed to be some sort of reserve/delaying force that has been cobbled together from what's left of 3rd Armor?

And is it safe to assume that the forces to arrive are from 3rd Brigade 8th Infantry Division? They seem to be a mix of companies led by a brigade HQ rather than a battalion HQ.

I am doing a mod for personal consumption based on O. W. Dragoner's OOB for 1989. And I suppose I could do anything I want. But I like to know the back story if the Mad Russian would care to share it. The main effect of my mod would be that the relieving force would be driving M113's and M113 ACAVs.

They might get some helicopter's (or other toys) to bring the point total nearer to the original. In my first version they had 4/18th Artillery from V Corps, who pretty well smashed the Soviets all by themselves. I gave the Soviets a battalion of 152's who did not do much to help the Red cause.

Sorry, I haven't had a lot of time this past week for FPC things. I'll look back at my notes and see what I can get for you hopefully sometime this week. No promises as this week is going to be busy as well but I'll make an effort to get this for you.

Good Hunting.

Don't worry about it. I have recently played it so many times with M2's and M113's I think I have it figured out either way.

I have moved on to Head On, which now seems a lot harder than I remember. Not sure I will ever figure that out.
