Convoy WS.14/OS.14

Hello,
The above convoy arrived in Cape Town, loaded with supplies in the way of devices (for the pool?).

I read through the manual, and I couldn't find any mention of what to do with it, nor did clicking the unit give me any options.

So what is that? Does it just arrive and automatically dump devices in the pool? If not - what am I supposed to do with it to use it?

Thanks

It automatically disbands in a few days and dumps everything into the pools.

That makes perfect sense, Thank you.

Just wished the E-Book Manual would have mentioned it.

The manual does mention it. Go to page 180, s.8.1.7.1.

Thanks Alfred - as usual you knew where to look [;)]
When looking for Convoys I never thought to look under Coast Defense Units! [:)]

Can someone explain the nomenclature "WS.14/OS.14" - ? I'm sure there's an obvious explanation but I've never been able to surmise what that means --

I believe convoys would have a pair of letters defining specific departure and arrival ports, plus a number to identify the individual convoy.

So in this case you are talking about convoy 14 on the "OS \ WS" route.

The attached Map is from "silent Hunter 3" - so can be taken with a grain of salt, but look like "OS" was originally convoys sailing between Liverpool and Sierra Leonne - with this eventually being extended to south Africa.

Additionally we see the famous "PQ" route - of PQ17 infamy - from Liverppol to Murmansk, with the return convoys being QP

WS was for special reinforcement troopship convoys from UK to Egypt/India/Burma/Malaya. Also known as "Winstons specials".
