SS Panzer korps

Hi
How do you people use the SS Panzer korps? AFAIK there is no special stacking rule for them, the only difference between them and any other pz korps is the colour. However; I have noticed that many people tend to put SS units into them and thus making them the spearhead of all attacks. Consequently; they turn into a very good hint of where the next axis attack will take place.
Is there any reason whatsoever to use them at all and to beef them up to +200 strength? Isn't it better to, like, put them all in the north with just a stug bn in them and then attack for all it's worth with other, normal units in the south?

Yes, indeed it is to obvious... But I can't help to make my 1st SS panzer korps an invincible fighting machine. It is just too much fun. You can make some tricks with this way as well: wherever it is spotted the soviets will prepare their defences... And normal panzer korpses can do some damage elsewhere. You need at least one panzer korps reserve at striking range of the infantry to be safe even at inactive fronts, as the opponent might have plans as wel , so it is no real waste. But usualy the ss panzer will attack, and with proper air support nothing can stop it. They are over 300 strength with 3 ss panzer div, 1 cavalry, 3 heavy panzer bn and an artillery unit. This means nearly 1000 heavy panzers with proper infantry support. If you don't make a mistake it can only be hurt from the air, or from at least 2-3 tank armies (probably 3).

on the other hand....
if the assumption is as Magnus writes "that they are used to spearhead the attacks" I would set them up as excellent decoys or even dummies including a single second line panzer division where Im NOT supposed to attack.

I realise it's a bit stereotypical to put one's best SS Panzer/Panzergrenadier divisions and heavy tank battalions into an SS Panzer Korps, but when amassing the most formidable collection of powerful units, what else would you use?
I generally keep mine right away from the frontlines, in a reserve, usually in some city. As someone said, they really reveal the location of the next attack, which is why I usually commit them only after I have achieved a breakthrough, with several diversionary faints.
Of course the usefulness of doing this against the AI is debatable. I really should play against a human opponent one of these days.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so...
The SS Korps receive first dibbs on men and equipment, at a greater rate, more often, with higher experience and subsequently less experience loss, etc.
(and they get to wear those cool black uniforms as some poster once wrote.)

The SS Units will operate as you described but not the SS corps
SS usually is the first to get new weapons or replacements and has the ability to gain experience faster or gain experience due to training
