Hello.

I am really glad the Close Combat series are getting a 3D iteration. I am looking forward to news/release of The Bloody First.

Having read some of the other threads I am actually glad there will be more of a focus on sequential battles rather than multi group campaigns. What I really loved about the CC series was watching your individually named soldiers advance in skill. I am hoping for some ability to customize your company/platoons during the course of play but will understand if for the first release this will be limited/restricted for now. I am also hoping you guys retain the optional ability to see information about each individual soldier (their names etc) when you click on a squad as I loved this rpgesque aspect of the game as I would keep tabs on the progress of some of the individual units in various squads.

I was also curious in regards to zoom, since we can now zoom in and out whether or not it will be possible to see more detailed soldier models up close with their respective uniforms? Completely unnecessary obviously but I am just curious as I love the uniforms of the period etc.

Steve said few time ago how the camera had these positions.

The camera allows for either a top-down view or an angled view. You can pan and zoom the camera freely, but there is no rotation.

I suppose how a very close view where you can see the uniforms at 100 is not possible and I see it as a good idea. Other previous games as GI Combat or Squad Assault had a very close camera where you could see everything but they show us how a first view perspective is very bad for a tactical game. Other point is how if you have a very close zoom, the detail from models/textures must be better and it can increase the times from development and increase the requeriments from the game. I remember how Steve told about how the game would not need a high level computer.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of the LODs for the models using up a lot of dev time. Either way looking forward to what they come up with.
