Unable to end Muliplayer turn

Post by MemoryLeak »

I am playing CZero in the Palau- New Guinea scenario. Turn 14. Lots of time invested in this scenario.

I can't end my turn. When I click on the end turn button it says Uploading, please wait. 15 minutes later I'm still waiting.
I exited to desktop, did the turn again and same result. Can't end turn. I did this four times.

Also, while the meatball flag is spinning, and I am waiting for it to upload the turn(which it never does), I can click on the next
unit arrow(because it is still active) and rotate thru all of my opponents units. So it is possible to view all his hidden units this way.
Something is really messed up.

I reported this on several occasions at Slitherine but so far Adhedral has ignored my post. ( my username is Yolo911 on Slitherine)

I would like some feedback to know if you are aware of this problem and are working on it. This has occurred during three other, but different,
multiplayer scenarios.

I have played many MP scenarios but thankfully it does not occur for each one.

Thank you.

As far as I can tell you've been the only one reporting this issue, so I hoped it would be a rare/patch related issue. If it's still happening regularly then there must be something more seriously wrong though.

I remember you mentioned the name CZero before. Are all these games against the same player? Or are there any other similarities between the games that have issues?

And to be sure, you - and your opponent - have not been altering the game data (txt) files? Because that would certainly cause the replays to fail. Building in better protection against that is still on our to-do list.

Hi,

First off, thanks for the reply.

Two of the games that are still on my screen are with CZero.
The other one, the Jungle scenario, is with creesto1.
I haven't seen any more challenges from him on the MP screen.

I don't remember any others.

I don't know either person so I can't say if they are the kind of person to alter a file.
I didn't alter it. I didn't even know about it.

I wish there was something useful I could zip and send you.

Larry

I had a look at the MP game the first time you reported this issue (I can duplicate & edit MP games through the admin system). But because the developer build was no longer properly compatible at the time I couldn't test it properly. The problem with MP games/replays is that often when an issue arises the actual cause of the problem has already happened one or more turns ago, making it hard to track down.

A new patch will be released next week. If this issue happens again after installing this let me know and point me to the game so I can try duplicating it again.

And please remind me, did you send me an output_log.txt from any these MP games? Maybe there is a clue in there?

Hi thanks again for the attention to this issue.

I did send the output files. I still have all three games sitting there on my MP screen. I can always access each one again
and resend each one if it would help, or we can just wait for the patch.

Your call.
