I just downloaded and installed the Battle of Britain update. Bad idea. When I start the game I get a "Black Screen of Death". Now I'll have to uninstall the whole game and reinstall it. I hope I can at least get the original game back.

Man I'm so mad right now I can't see straight. I uninstalled the game and reinstall game and now it won't run even without the update. This is the second time I've updated a game and it won't run. After I updated War in the West I haven't been able to play it unless I disable the sounds. I paid for the whole game not part of it. I've had it with Matix. No more purchases from me!

Oh man, it just gets better all the time. I reinstalled the game and I redownloaded and installed the update and now I get the following errors (at least i didn't get the "Black Screen of Death" this time):
mono: function mono_class_get_userdata_offset not found
mono: function mono_class_get_userdata not found
mono: function mono_class_set_userdata not found

Maybe they should test the upgrades before they release them.

I uninstalled and reinstalled for a second time (just the original game not the update)and I'm back to the "Black Screen of Death". Apparently the update "broke" something because now the original game won't even run. DO NOT INSTALL THE UPDATE if you like this game. You'll never be able to play it again.

OK, Tech Support, I've attached my DxDiag file and my output_log file. I have no current options.dat file or autosave file. After the update to Battle of Britain, the game will not run. I just get a black screen. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling the original game (without the update)the game no longer runs.

Please do the following:
Delete the folder named
Settings in the Windows document folder at:
...\Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - Pacific
Then download and reinstall the 1.83 patch from the following link:
ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/OrderOfBa ... p-v183.zip
After having installed 1.83 download and reinstall 1.93:
http://ftp.eu.matrixgames.com/pub/Order ... p-v193.zip

One question not asked here. Are you running a Matrix install or a Steam install? Steam will automatically update on its own (assuming you have it set that way). The Matrix version needs its own update. You cannot use the Matrix update on a Steam version and pretty much vise versa.
Just checking to rule out a possible problem.
Good luck.

Had the same problem with another game. Are you running windows 10? Win 10 had set the attributes pf the Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - Pacific
to read only. If this is what has happened just uncheck the read only box in the folder properties window
