I don't know what's wrong, but I get this error message every time: 'unable to download file. An error occurred while trying to open an FTP file'

I can't open the manual either. Nothing happens when I press the button.

I use win 10, and all drivers should be up to date.

I found a link to the update, but still...

Are you using the CS:ME Launch Menu for the Update, or a direct download link?

OK. I just tried the download link to the update exe. It does not download for me either. Must be an issue at the M/S site. I will notify them.

I posted a Support ticket. Link seems to be still down... Will notify once up again. Thanks for reporting this!

What do you know. Does still not work on my Chrome browser. Downloads with W10 Edge browser (The new Microsoft browser).

Seems to be a compatibility issue with Chrome browser then!

EDIT: Actually, the first Edge download hang just at the end, but the second attempt completed.

So please try with other browser than Chrome, or use the Check for Update button on the CS:MEs main menu.

So if the bigwigs at Microsoft or Google or Mozilla or ... can't get it right, if their browsers are buggy, we little guys with our small dev teams are supposed to feel ashamed about a few bugs? [8|] LOL

Edit: Nope, with Edge it downloads until 1 sec remaining, then hangs.

At work (my day, er, night job), I deal with these sorts of file transfer and network glitches all the time. It's amazing that anything ever works right!

Editing as US link doesn't work in Chrome. I'll ask the web admins to check this, but the EU/CA servers are working in Chrome

As I replied, for me (Finland), the EU and CA downloads work, while the US one does not even begin. W10 + Google Chrome Version 45.0.2454.99 m

Replace the ftp with http. You can use these ones:

I couldn't download the file with Chrome either, but it worked fine with Internet Explorer.

Using the first link from post 10 I was able to download the update with chrome.
