Is it possible to see what a unit can see from a certain hex without a unit present in the hex?

Not with Extreme FOW optional rule on, no.

That's by design. Extreme FOW is rather extreme!

I like it but i've payed some prices in men and material to see what i can see so to speak. I use that function alot in the campaign games, i mean every unit, every move...not anymore....kinda adds to the tension not knowing. I'm learning what terrain blocks your LOS even if the terrain is level.

Does tend to slow ones advance down a tad, yes?! Sometimes a sneaky little so-and-so still ambushes one, even creeping along!! Good stuff though!

But I did not choose extreme FOW only FOW? So is it possible with FOW only?

Did you disable extreme fow? Because I think it is enabled by default.
