So, from what I understand this new version is the 3.5 patch and some graphics and user interface changes. More or less mods on top of 3.5. If you look at the Close Combat series some of those games are the same thing. The old game with some mods. They go for the full price of the brand new Close Combat games.

All of these games go for $39.99USD whether it's a new version or a redo of the old game. That makes me think this 'new' version of TOAW is going to be the same, $39.99USD. Does that sound close?

I thought (and am hoping) that this game will not be simply "mods" to the existing GUI, but rather a fairly significant, if not complete, reworking of the GUI to bring it out of the nineties into the 21st century?

Either way, personally I'm not very concerned about the price--if it is just graphical "mods" I doubt I'll buy it whatever the price, while if it is a more thorough reworking, I'll buy it almost regardless of price.

Well, there is BTS, improved naval and some other welcome bits and pieces. This fairly follows the Matrix strategy of taking an old game, doing some tweaking, user interface changes, graphics changes and trotting it out at new game prices. It has worked fairly well for them so far it seems. I really would have liked to see the game totally redone. Like Mr. Jagger says, "You don't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you get what you need". [:D]

To Bob. Any chance of this going to Steam? It will get more exposure there.

I don't know. That's up to the Matrix dudes. And I don't have any price info either. But I'm pretty sure there will be a suite of price options (download only, boxed set, deluxe boxed set with printed manual, etc.).
