are these in this one as in the old east fron/westfront or does a modder have to make them or can anyone insert them in. I only played a little and did not see any for either side.

I believe i read in the manual that they weren't using historical leaders because the conflicts are more recent and some are still living. Someone will correct if I'm wrong.

That is correct: leader pictures are not there for this reason. Unit and vehicle pictures partially for this reason too, and for the lack of time and sources to ensure an otherwise suitable picture would be available from copyright point of view.

The game engine does support pictures, so if you want to create a mod put a picture to pictures folder, eith a name using syntax of P######.bmp where ###### are the numbers from platoon id or unit picture Up######.bmp

For instance, many of the pictures using the Wiki licensing terms would be available if there'd be a detailed appendix crediting each photograph to its author. We simply did not have the time for this.
