Fuel transport in Australia....

Ok having some difficulty getting fuel up to Cairns and Townsville. I am dropping off fuel in Perth and Brisbane. Have over 90k in Brisbane. How do I get it to say Townsville from Brisbane and Perth? Should I request fuel "depot" at Townsville and Cairns?
It seems the fuel pools in Sydney and to a lesser extent Brisbane. Have maybe about 150 k of fuel in AU. Is that not enough to cover off industry and misc. needs? Hence it cannot "push" fuel to the northwest?
I have both on fuel request status but I guess the rail can't keep up?

It tends to stay in Sidney where the biggest shipyard and most of the industry reside. If you dump enough in Sidney (lots and Lots) it will eventually move to other ports. Better yet is to set stockpiling "on" for ports such as Townsville and Perth and then deliver fuel to those ports by tanker. If stockpile is not set then fuel will actually flow back out of those ports to Sidney. You might want to turn HI "off" for your Australian factories as well. They will burn up your fuel stockpiles. You don't really need them for supply since you can ship plenty of supply from the West Coast to OZ. Hope this helps.

That's not a particularly large amount of fuel, if you create a "demand" up in Townsville, it should flow up that way.

Best to ship it and go sparingly on using the demand button. Usually, that moves more supply than fuel and setting the demand button usually screws with the supply flow to other bases. I do use it but you have to remember to turn it off once your needs are met.

Make it a nominal homeport for your CV and BB fleets. They can be far away and never intend to go there, but will create demand for fuel. Just not forget swicth homeports back when you would need TFs to run there on outo like after bombardments

Or just make life easy on yourself and set the port to stockpile and send some fuel there by ship....[;)] Before stockpiling was a choice the Allied player has to use an offshore base for fuel stockpiles. Hobart or Noumea were popular choices. But with stockpiling allowed this is no longer necessary. Soooooo thankful for the patches..

+1 Also works for Brisbane. Simply refueling ships at these bases creates demand if you have enough ship traffic going there.

Thanks guys. I do have the x2 ports on fuel depot priority status. I didn't think about shutting off the HI nor making my home ports for my CV groups to Townsville!! Awesome advice
