While Berto has been posting his moves here, I've been doing the same at the Grogheads AAR forum.

I do believe he's linked to my view of the battle, while I've done the same to his. It might be easier to keep track of things should I post a notice here that I've documented a new turn so here goes!

Paying the Piper's Bill! Quite a disastrous turn for my overextended leading troops. Gimel Coy is still determined to mop up the pocket I created, while Aleph and Beth coys are realing back now. Have the Egyptians have enough too? Retreating to their remaining 50VP base, or launching a counter attack?

And so it ends! During the final turn Berto managed to sneak a SP1 rifle team to capture the 25VP Objective at Abu Sultan. I had infantry in the area just in case, and with tanks available to charge in via the Paved Road, but due to having had no idea there were still hostiles in the area I did not consider to have units sitting in the Objective itself.

Never leave your rear area assets unprotected. Well played Berto [8D]

And here's the final situation at the area. It turns out Egyptians were but a spent force, but given I had not the time available to launch a concentrated last push I am happy to have the advance mostly secured, par the rear area Objective Berto managed to plant his flag at during the last minute.

This was a fun scenario. It is very tough for the Egyptians, as Israelis can advance in a strong cohesive formation, with plenty of close support available. A very much of a case of an irresistibly force meeting a movable object, as we discussed in our emails. Therefore, Egyptian player must somehow play to his advance, sniping at Israelis, and then move with strength the minute Israelis have turned into a resistible force instead.
