Campaign Progress

Really loving the new content, but I have one small issue with the campaign. It seems that the campaign progress is only saved when the game is manually saved or at the start of a scenario. In my case, I completed scenario 2 in one sitting, and when presented with the mission brief for scenario 3 I chose exit to menu (I was done for the day and didn't want to start my next session)
When going to load my campaign, I was presented with the start of scenario 1 and a mid scenario 1 save and a start of scenario 2 save only. Unfortunately for me, I had done a stand-alone game inbetween, so all of my autosaves were not applicable.
At any rate, either I'm understanding something wrong, or I would recommend that the game make a campaign save when we get the debrief screen.
