Length of Months

Is it possible to change the month to 30 days in a scenario (or random game via an event)? I can see how to specify the length of a round in days, but I think the months are fixed at 31 days. This makes things a little off kilter if you want two turns per month. It would seem that 30 day months, with 15 day turns, would do it. Is this possible? I didn't see it easily in the list of event commands or in the rulevars.

It's not possible to change the length of a month, it is hard coded. Some of them like febuary actually are only 28 or 29 days, if it's leap year, and others are 30 days... it follows the regular calendar.

However, you can cheat somewhat. It is possible for you, by event, to define the exact day of the month, year and month. There is an Exec for it, i just don“t remember what it is atm.

Thanks ernieshwitz, I was afraid of that. It looks like the months are set up to each be 31 days and the default change in days is 31, hence one month per round. You're right I can over ride this and use an event to do what I want, although I was hoping for something a little simpler. A 30 day month would actually be simpler to work with.

Well I can debunk that the months are 31 days. I never have seen a 31st. of Febuary for instance.

You're right. Except that it is confusing. For a scenario, if you go to the settings window and click on the Alternate round system, it will ask for number of days per round, and if set to 31, it will be months. In addition, for the random games, the event "First Round: Set Year and Date" uses "ExecDateMode(1,31)" which advances by 31 days, which advances a month. But, yes, if you use 15 days, the months have the correct days.
