[FIXED B757.10] Eye for Eye

I like it, but I can't win it. I tried using editor to get all my a/c ready at start, assigning all 6 bucs with nukes to strike the nearest target and using all 14 F4's for escort.
I used my 8 bucs with martels for Sead fairly successfully, but not one buc with nuke reached the target.

I tried twice. What now?

Finally, I added a Resolution submarine with A# Polaris missiles. After my a/c failed to land a nuke on either target, I fired 8 A3's at each target. However, after they landed the bases were not destroyed.
I don't get how that happened so I give up. I'll play the rest of the scenarios by individual instead of in the campaign.

We forgot that under the new releases, airbases and runways etc. cannot be totally destroyed. I used the editor to add a trigger of 95% damage to the two target bases. Then, the A3 sub launched missiles worked to end the scenario.

Thanks for the notice. There seems to be an issue with direct-hit impacts of nuclear-tipped weapons on "single-unit airbase" facilities. Investigating now.

Found it. The single-unit airbase was not a considered a "hard target", and as a result nuclear weapons were airbursting by default instead of groundbursting on it, thus severely damaging it but not totally obliterating it.

Preparing a fix.

Thanks again for the heads up.

Ok, I thought that single-unit airbases could not be destroyed. I'm not sure if airburst versus ground burst with 200KT nuke makes that much difference. I hope we never find out.

There is in fact a tremendous difference. An airbase (or a rail junction for that matter) may shrug off an airburst or far-enough ground burst. See Part-II of Slade's seminal primer on strategic nuclear weapons: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=213176
