WIR v3.3 comming soon.

Guys, Arnaud and his test team have a new a publication of WIR.

Here are the changes for v3.3 :

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Aircraft and tank costs can now be set to more than 9 with the editor (and the game will work with such values)

Corps whose average readiness is less than 5% can no longer move. If average readiness is less than 20%, the corps can move only one hex. This simulates the gradual immobilization of unsupplied units (as at stalingrad). To extricate such corps, players should use air supply.

Fixed a bug which prevented divisions from suffering readiness loss when bombarded

Fixed a bug which let players create HQs in enemy territory

Fix: Tons dropped in airfield attack now match the final combat report

Players can now change the type of tanks/TD much more freely in an armor unit (the light/heavy armor distinction is no longer a restriction). The AI will also replace tanks with new types more realistically.

Units can no longer be rail-transfered to/from a corps located on a damaged rail hex

Axis players can no longer change factory production in Florence

Fixed a bug which caused corps to attack the same hex several times

Fixed a bug which caused tank losses to be null

Finland (and all its men) now surrenders when Helsinki falls

The gain of HQ points by good leaders who make their leadership checks has been increased

The AT value of infantry has been toned down a little

The lethality of air strikes against tanks has been toned down.

A new menu item is available in the UTIL menu: "EQPT CONTROL". This lets players set computer/human control of the upgrade of equipment in (ground & air) units independently of factory control (FAC CONTROL).

The effects of blizzard on the axis in the first winter has been changed to make the shattering of axis units less automatic.

My God, I think we're witnessing some sort of a Pavlov phenomenon in effect - my heartbeat rate has gone up tremendously and I'm eagerly pondering the possibilities even as saliva forms in my mouth!

Or to put it another way, bloody good job and congrats to Arnaud and his test team.

This is great news !!!!

Trying to wait patiently as I am certainly looking forward to the changes listed.

Not to be a pain but here are some more ideas that I have no idea how hard they are to implement

1- Allow Training mode for JU52s

2- Change the cost for some tanks from 99 to 9 or something as
this allows them to appear on the pools lists from the util menu.

3- Once the conversions of older model tanks to newer models
for both sides on 1/1/43 there appears to be a formula that
could work better. The conversion of 25% of the various
pools procedes normally until there are only 3 left of a
particular tank and these never convert. The formula in Lotus
123 probably reads like this:

@round(pool*.25,0) = the coverted number

Thus when the pool gets to 3 there are no more conversions

If the formula read as follows all would convert:

@if(pool>0,@max(@round(pool*.25,0),1),0)

Obviously I have left out the date condition from these
formulas

4- Just a note

There are only 2 tanks that are available on 6/22/41 that
never get converted to a higher model after 1/1/43.

i) The Valentine for the Russians which I assume being an
English tank can not be converted to a Russian or Amercican
tank.

ii) The PzJg-1b for the Germans which I assume was built on a
the Pz I chassis not the Pz II chassis that the Marder series
used

Don't know, Arnaud said he was sending it in and haven't heard anything since. I was running a test on the version and he may have decided to wait to hear from me, but his message sure did not sound like he was waiting for the final report.
