By "crashes" do you mean to say the program aborts entirely and you go back to desktop? Or by "crahses" do you mean to say you get a series of error message pop-ups in re unavailable organizations? (But the Middle East.exe frontend continues to run.)

If the latter, it is a fairly well-known fact that the current OOBs don't support all possible combinations of random battle settings. Warning about that by way of the error message pop-ups is WAD.

What countries or dates are you trying?

Seems to work ok for me so far with various combinations.

Anything to narrow it down would be useful.

I was trying 1967 Side A : Israel Side B : Egypt
June
Mediterranean
Meeting engagement
Battalion
Terrain can varie.

When I press the "Reset" button, the only change is the level of the engagement that becomes Corps.

I get 3 error messages , the first message says "Error ID1000 Unitallocator.cpr ......for nation Egypt, level, ......
The two other messages contains also the word "Egypt".

Yes, that is WAD. And not a "crash" as such. Rather, in a controlled way, it's the game engine saying, in effect: "No can do. Please try a different combination."

(A true "crash" is where the game exits abruptly, with or without error pop-up message. Then you need to relaunch. That is not the case here. The game never exits. After the series of error pop-ups, you remain in the Middle East.exe frontend program, ready to try something else.)

The underlying problem here is that the OOBs don't support every possible combination of random battle settings. Some nations, some organizational levels, at some dates, simply don't work.

We are aware of the problem, and hope to have a comprehensive solution in some future update.

In the meantime, if at first you don't succeed, try try again.
