Hi all!
I need an advice.
If i have to sink a good enemy ship (like the Russian Kirov class Pyotr Velikiy battlecruiser) what is the best American missile to do the job? I mean, will you choose the agm-84k slamer-ata?
What about the AGM 154C-1?
What about other American missiles?

Thank you very much and sorry for my poor English.

If to wait for few more year, then LRASM is your answer.

It’s good to remember that it's not only the missile that sinks a ship like the Kirov. It’s the jamming, the spoofing, diverting its attention by attacking from several angles by several means - and a lot of missiles. A Mk-48 Torpedo is usually pretty effective as well [:D], once you sink the escorting Udaloys with a missile.

Well, he demands it to be hit by missiles, so journalists can see how epic the view it is. But you're right, torps are nasty too.

Not really, as it is, a TLAM is not stealthy enough to act as an effective ASM versus defended targets.

There's no magic bullet. A swarm of LRASMs will be only marginally more effective than a swarm of SLAMs or Harpoons. The key is either have a lot of them (that's what the missile defense rating is for) and/or support them with jammers and anti-radiation missiles.

AGM-88E? If you can get them to turn on their sensors HARMs are the way to go. Supersonic and hence harder to intercept then anything else in the arsenal.
And the E even has its own radar just in case the target turns off the radar. Somebody on this forum once mentioned he uses only Harms in that role, and it works really well.

the tomahawk IV maybe the best US ASM now, it can attack enemy ships from over 1000 km and change its course or turn to an alternative target in flight.
