It's Really Got Me Going...

Midnight in Colorado. Up again with degenerated disc pain. Come downstairs with the dogs. Put on some tea, open up Vic (and Cameron!) new game I downloaded yesterday. My usual pattern is to buy a whole lot more Matrix titles than I ever play, and Civil War is my sweet spot. I bought Vic's other two games just 'cause I admired him and their look and wanted to support such craft. But they sat so I wasn't too hopeful honestly as I sat waiting on the tea and the dogs did their thing in the back yard.
Three hours later... Forgot my tea. Forgot to take any pain meds. Forgot to let our dogs in (just for a bit as it is cold in CO tonight and I love them a lot!).
Just started playing after brief read of first 50 pages or so of manual on my iPad mini - while waiting for that beautiful hardback. Watched first five or six videos that are like having a mate over your shoulder giving you the scoop.
With my first hit I am hooked. I just spent three hours absolutely loving looking at and making all the decisions that Holder made - and reading the wonderful report packs giving me the scoop on the pros and cons of the decision, the parties involved and influenced, the cost.
I decided to go with Hitler on his war plans, but tell Goebbels not on my watch. No goons doing their dirty following behind my honorable soldiers. Plan to prepare troops for cold, too. Just pulled a few dusty books off the shelf and will order the book Wodin advised now that the game is giving me an incredible immersion and quick, initial grasp of what the hell is going on in all dimensions.
Thanks so much Vic and Cameron. Thanks so very, very much for this work of art of a wargame masterpiece that has years and years of your sacrifice and labors of love behind it. I honestly have been quite down of late and you've given me that kid at Christmas wargamer's buzz like I haven't felt in years.
