Weird situation. I press A to trigger attack focus on surrounded Russian units and the combat odds are showing yet no units have been selected. Note no attacking units in box and tha attack tab is greyed out.

List show the two units that the ratio is based on.

Because they haven't actually been selected - it allows me to select them so they get double counted!

First time this has happened. Great game btw, haven't played a decisive campaign one before, getting my head around the concepts and manual but am really enjoying it. Congrats to the designers.

it maybe because your forgetting you have artillery support on those units as well maybe? shown by the yellow artillery piece which will be added into the formula as well regarding combat odds etc?

staff no better tbh as i'm no expert either[&o]

Thanks.I've just had a similar situation where one defender didn't retreat and the repeat attack started with a stack ratio before units were added. That might have happened with the above which may have been a repeat attack too.

i maybe wrong, so staff will re look at correct if i am, but as you have support, that's my opinion, it's key to many a good attack and defensive move and save me many of times

Has that hex been attacked before, on that turn? Previous attacks there, on the same turn, are shown.

I think it was as I had a similar instance in another combat (mentioned above) which definitely was a repeat attack ie a defender held after the first assault and a second attack was launched on it in the same turn.

This is intended behaviour. These are so called battle stack points left over from previous attacks. If you want to attack the hex again without suffering penalties you have to wait a round. :)

best wishes,
Vic

Thanks. Half guessed that when it happened twice but good to have confirmation.
